Not the kind that go on your roof. The other kind.

I went to the doctor this morning to have this nasty rash on my neck looked at. I've had the rash for almost a week now, and since it wasn't getting any better I figured I should get a medical opinion about it. Especially since the rash has spread from my neck, to my ear and up into my scalp. And it doesn't really itch, but rather it prickles.

When I talked to my mom over the phone last night, she had a suspicion as to what it could be... and this morning, the doctor confirmed: shingles.

Mutha. Effin'. SHINGLES.

At least this makes me feel better:

I've watched it countless times since Sunday night and it never fails to bring a smile to my face. So many things about that opening number were epic: Jimmy... Glee... the Boss... and Jon Hamm getting his groove on. It's like a cupcake of awesome topped with gold frosting and sprinkled with diamonds.

Ok, that may be the pain killers talking...

You have SHINGLES??? I thought only old people got Shingles! What kind of drugs are they giving you? Is it too late to get a vaccine?

I had not seen the Emmy opener - how fun! I LOVE that Jorge Garcia was part of it!

Oh man that stinks!! But it sure made me laugh. "Mother Effin" got me started and then the Glee clip was just the cherry on top. Feel better soon!! I hear shingles are the pits.

That sucks! My SIL got shingles really, really bad when she was going through chemo last year. She had it everywhere. All over her face, her armpits, it was terrible. I had never known anyone that had it before. I didn't even know what it was. Keep your chin up, it will end.

oh no! I've never been cursed with such a thing as a roof disease but I hear its no fun. Hope you get well soon!

I HATE that I work evenings and have to miss this stellar TV!!!

Thank you so very much for the smiles...I'm sitting here laughing my ass off as hubby watches stupid baseball game.

I hope you're feeling better soon! I'm thinking sparkly, heavily medicated wellness thoughts your way.

I really hope you got some rest today and are feeling better!

And I am reminded yet again why we are kindred spirits. I too have been watching that video repeatedly. Because it makes me smile. And that Jon Hamm...delicious!

Ok, I just watched it again. I can't get enough of it! Maybe you can tell me who the dark haired girl that jumps out of the doorway into the hall and sings a little solo is? I don't recognize her.

Shingles suck!

We see alot of them at work, and you know I'm not a roofer. Have they started you on acyclovir? You poor thing...

Cannot wait for the start of another season of Glee. Do you know when it starts?

Enjoy your percocet :)

I have shingles every time I get stressed! They are the kind that come out in small areas. That prickling sensation is how I know they are on their way. Hate them!!

Thank you so much for posting this, I didn't watch the Emmys this year and I REALLY needed to see this!

I hope your shingles are getting better. That's one of those diseases that you don't think even exists anymore until you get it.
