22 Nutty Buddies Have Something To Say:
24 glue sticks for one child!? Well...actually that sounds about right for the kids I teach. They go through those things like CRAZY!!
30 glue sticks? Huh, wha? Are they making a popsicle replica of some place famous?
I think it's just insane the amount of stuff they ask our children to bring to school...I don't mind buying for my kids but when everyone else in the classrooms use the stuff too it kind of upsets me.
And 30 glue sticks...I would have told them to shove it!
Huh? What is up with the paper towels, baby wipes and disinfecting wipes?
How is one child going to use 24 glue sticks in one school year? Do they eat it for lunch?
WOW.
Ack! I don't even wanna look! I don't want to do it, I don't want to think about it!
Justine :o )
Is it that time already??
i love buying school supplies - too bad i don't get to anymore.
Ugh! Don;t remind me.
I haven't even started yet. Jacob's list is ridiculous. Every teacher he has(7) has a different list. He even has to have a jump drive and I have to buy 4 books. Craziness.
I need a personal shopper to get it all done.
My girls are not is school yet so this is all new to me. But why does one classroom need 24 glue sticks?!?! Seriously that is insane.
Holy glue Batman! What the heck will they be adhereing that they need 24 sticks of glue??!
I've been picking up the freebies from CVS but I won't know what the teen needs until school starts. Nothing like late notice. Hmph.
Whew, don't miss those days.....now we wait until after the rush and everything is on mega-clearance to get our supplies.
Really? Really? That is an unreal list! We got Madalyn's supplies this week. But we don't know who her teacher is going to be...so there may be a few other things that we need to get.
This is the first year we have been asked to provide dry erase markers. And they asked for a clean sock :-) No staples. No index cards. No paper towels. But I do have to send a bag of M&Ms.
30 glue sticks, that's it?? You know kids eat those as snacks. I teach first grade and every time I went to the supply room, the lady in charge just handed me ten glue sticks, I didn't even have to ask she just knew.
Holy crap. That is a lot of glue sticks. My son only needed 6 and I thought that was excessive.
I will never complain about our list. As mine only has 5 items on it.
Bless your heart.
Yikes!! I haven't even started thinking about this yet.
ah, we've stimulated the economy too with school shopping - and uniforms and next will be new shoes, but i'm holding off.
30 glue sticks - seriously, what are they glueing?
What the heck are they going to be making this year???? Holy cow!
(This is why I love homeschooling! lol!)
Thanks, Shannon for your very kind comments at La Dolce Vita!!! You rock my socks off!
Okay, I bought 30 glue sticks..but that's because I am a teacher with 30 students! ;)
I know it's a lot of money, but there is something I simply love about buying back to school supplies, even if they're not for me.
What on earth do they do all with of those glue sticks?!
I'm pretty sure the back to school list my mom had when I was a kid was much much shorter than that.
3 ring binder- Check
White wide lined paper- Check
Glue- Check
Box of #2 Pencils- Check
Box of colored pencils- Check
Box to hold my pencils- Check
Box or 2 of Kleenex- Check
Back pack-check
Eraser- Check
I'm pretty sure that was it. Things sure have changed!
Yeah, we certainly didn't have such big lists when I was a kid. Heck, I'm not sure we even had a list at all. Maybe we had to bring a box of tissues, but I don't remember having to supply the classroom with anything else. I'll have to ask my mom.
But honestly. These lists are out of control!
